Hmm. This is not the case at the airports I use. Think about it: when you go into an airport, you go through a security checkpoint which leads to a gate servicing MANY airlines. Who picks which airline would have the responsibility? (In the Roanoke (VA) airport, there is ONE security checkpoint and nine airlines using the gates beyond the checkpoint.) I cannot speak to SFX.
