I forget what the winning thickness was [it was about 4 or 5 feet long], but the shaving had to be measured with a micrometer. It was thin enough to see fairly resolved shapes through and would take several seconds to fall to the floor when I dropped it from a height of about 7 feet. My wife still has it tacked to the wall at her work. I got rid of all my woodworking gear to fund the repair of the Leicas that my father-in-law gave me [back on topic] and haven't looked back. /Mitch Zeissler - -----Original Message----- From: Lee, Jonathan [mailto:Jonathan.Lee@hrcc.on.ca] Sent: Wednesday, October 03, 2001 4:23 PM To: 'leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us' Subject: RE: [Leica] Should we have a M6 film loading contest? <<snip>> For more silly contests check out www.hidatool.com for Kezurou-Kai, a contest to make the longest, thinest continuous wood shaving from a hand plane.
