Subject: [Leica] Stolen Leicas and Insurance

Well, I just got off the phone with the insurance adjuster and the
company decided to pay my claim as submitted -- less the deductible --
and they said "your check is in the mail." I did not have to complain
to the state insurance commissioner but I was prepared to do that next
if they gave me any more delay. [To recap quickly, my robbery in France
claim was reported to the insurance company in 16 June and they delayed
payment saying they felt my "Old Leicas" should be depreciated 7% each
year. That would make any equipment over 14 years old valueless!]

Still a couple issues to resolve -- like the coverage for some
replacement items already purchased.

Thanks to all the Luggers who responded with advice and support. I will
investigate a new company as see if I can find one that does not have so
much difficulty paying legitimate claims. Your recommendations are all
noted.
