Absolutely right. It's worth mentioning loud and often that if you leave
your baggage unattended in the UK it is very likely that it will be
destroyed with a 'controlled detonation'. This has been standard practice
here for a long time now, and is becoming standard procedure elsewhere in
the world too.

Oh and you will piss off *everyone* in the airport/train station/bus
station/tube system where you do this, because their journeys will be
delayed, sometimes by hours.

It's not madness, or over zealous behaviour, it's just good sense as long as
people keep doing things like this:
