Subject: [Leica] Stolen Leicas - how to prevent
From: "Emanuel Lowi" <mano@proxyma.net>

A photographer I once worked for told me to think of the contents of my camera bag
(for the purposes of theft prevention) in terms of its monetary value in cash. So if
you are carrying 2 M6 bodies, plus 21, 35, 50 & 90mm latest fast lenses, you've got
over $7000 there. How would you stash that in your hotel room? Would you leave that
unattended, in an envelope, in an airport lobby or on a chair in a restaurant?

I'm just back from the summer in the Middle east. I carried all my gear over and back
in a Lowe backpack but, for shooting, the Leicas and lenses went around in a
Billingham f4.5, which Leica USA was giving away free a few years ago. It's
reasonably well -padded and elegant too. ;-)
