I agree, I hate harsh light and that is why I prefer to shoot on the 'shady
side' of the street. That shot was taken at twilight where there was not
much light left, 10 minutes later and it was dark. I used my all time
favourite lens the 50/1.4 (I want to be buried with that lens).

Yes I went back and forth in PhotoShop with it, but ended up with a pretty
close match (at least on my monitor) to the 8x10 that I scanned from.

Maybe so, but most of my photos have the "little pictures within the big
picture", so thanks for noticing, but I guess it does not work on this one.
