It is as if I have a completely different lens. The aperture ring works wonderfully and silently. This new lens began chirping/squeaking 2 days after the purchase. Thanks to my dealer who called Leica to exhort them to prioritize the service, thanks to Leica for doing that... and thanks to a fellow LUGer who so generously lent me 50 Summicron whilst mine was in New Jersey.
