Lithium AA's exhibit a voltage spike when new.  If the electronics weren't
designed with voltages in excess of 1.5 then you may have difficulties.  For
example, My, dare I say, contax 167 with the AA adapter won't function at
all with the lithiums.

Back the  silver 76 batteries, I continue to use them as they seem to work
twice? as long as the lithiums in my early M-6.
