I am afraid that it means exactly that which is why I am on this (and other)
boards under another ISP even though I use AOL to sign on with.   I am now
beta testing AOL7 which I was assured would take plain text but it doesn't.
You can, however, take advantage of AOL's cheaper monthly rates by using it
to sign on then using your email program (such as Outlook Express or Eudora)
to access your email and send to the LUG in plain text.   That is what I do.
