I was told by a Leica rep that the 80-200/4 is APO at most apertures and focal lengths. Barely misses the mark at a couple of points. Thus no APO designation. Don't know if it was sales talk, but I do know the lens is really super. The 80-200 is manufactured at Kyocera, I believe.
