I went through that with computers, and I'm not going to make the same mistake twice ... which is why I prefer Leica (or, in my most reckless moods, Nikon, but that is still far more conservative than Canon). But IS is not at all a gadget! It works. And it is not a marketing argument but a usable capability. It merely allows to make pictures camera handheld that oterwise you couldn`t. I've used it from the beginingof the system, actually in three lenses, and I appreciate it. Why to use it should be a mistake? I use Leica, and I'm very pleased with it, but I have not these sentiments of scorn for other equipment. I can understand the politic of making a conservative body and excelent lenses but this have not to exclude other approachings where invention are welcome. Nikon, another fine camera and optics manufacturer, is merely some time behind but following some path. Scorning other material does not make our better. And may please someone enlight me about the true reason for calling other equipment, in "every" list, with ******? Kind regars Félix
