I saw the exhibit in at Eastman House in Rochester.  Like you, I felt overwhelmed by both the execution and the message.

And about that haze - I heard a nasty rumour that he hires large groups of indigents, gives them smoke machines, and makes them hide behind trees for days on end.  Hey, at least it's a job :-)

I just got back from visiting the Sebastião Salgado "Migrations" exhibit at
the ICP. It made me feel very very humble. I expected great but not soooo
great! If at all possible try to see it if you have not yet done so.

The thing I don't know is how he always manages to drum up some haze or mist
in the distance.
