Fluorescent only for vieweing prints *after* fixing is complete. Flourescent light may take up to 17 minutes to be completely extinguished. For the ultimate lighting try Thomas Light. I never liked them because, while they are very safe, the level of light is too high and impedes evaluating negatives projected on the easel. Joe Codispoti
