I usually dipped my index and middle fingers in the Photoflo bath first, then ran the film between them. No streaking, no scratching - it worked fine. There's less chance of grit accumulating on your fingers than in a sponge anyway. For years I used a Dupont photo sponge which eventually began to crumble, and then, about a year ago, taking someone's advice on this or another list, and finding myself without a sponge and in possession of fingers, began wiping the negatives down between fingers 1 and 2, clean fingers of course. For me it works better than the sponge. Bill Harting
