i always dunk it in the photoflow swirl it around a lot, run my finger
down each blade, checking for smoothness, i keep it in a sealable plastic
bag to keep dust off it..  fear of scratching is foremost on this paranoid
mind, too.  but it's never (yet)  been a problem.
