Digital ice--as it is most popular implemented today--will not work with
silver halide film.  Regardless of scanner settings.  Silver halide film
doesn't let the infrared beam pass through like chromagenic film.  Use
Ilford XP2, and it should be fine.  It's a function of the film itself and
not the color settings.
