The early cameras had battery consumption problems but there are a few things to check first. 1) YOU HAVE TO TURN THE CAMERA OFF IF YOU PUT IT INTO A BAG PERIOD! Any pressure on the shutter release with the shutter dial in any position but "off" will turn the camera on and run the batteries down. The camera can be on even if the meter display is off. 2) Open up the battery compartment and remove the batteries. Look under the main contact in the battery compartment. You should see two small pin head sized contacts. Cover them with a small piece of electrical tape. The tape goes "over" the two small contacts but "under" the main contact. If you are still having problems send the camera back. John Collier > From: "Griffith, Lucian" <griffil1@anz.com> > > What do you mean "problematic"?
