It is in neither Sunnyvale nor Mountain View. Moffett Field P. O. Box 16 Moffett Field, CA 94035 Telephone: (650) 603-9827 Our last administration did away with Moffett Field. It no longer exists as a Naval Air Station. It is now just a bunch of runways and blimp hangers. The NASA facility is still going strong on the left as well as Lockheed-Martin on the right. Following is its current disposition dispute by the alliance. "We, the Alliance for a New Moffett Field, are volunteers from Mountain View, Sunnyvale and nearby communities. Our principal goal is to promote an open and democratic process to determine the future use of Moffett Field. We wish to ensure that this valuable resource will serve the interests of our communities, preserving and enhancing our quality of life." You can read about Moffett Field and the blimps (and everything else) at: http://code.arc.nasa.gov/jf/history/ The USS MACON can be viewed at the following address: http://www2.lucidcafe.com/lucidcafe/library/macon2.html I've taken many "Leica" photos at Moffett Field, while it was a real air base.
