Well yes and no ;-) The R may offer no clear advantage to you as an
individual, and therefore an "investment" as you put it would be folly, but
the R series camera is the best manual SLR camera I've used, and iff you
want manual control (M-style), then the R series has several clear
advantages (in use) over its more automated friends. Its all a matter of
horses for courses -- and then there is the "glass" ;-)
