Hi,

I particularly agree with what Doug has to say about the R8's view finder. I am very near sighted. I have no trouble seeing through the M6, but the R8 is the only SLR I have ever used which lets me see the whole picture frame and the digital display without shifting either my eyes or the camera. The R8 has the best 35 MM view
finder on the market. It also has, if I remember properly, a better digital display than the competition. The R8 shows you which metering mode you're using. I don't think that the Canon does. It's a joy to focus through the R8 viewfinder. Now, I may be naive, but it seems to me that being to see your subject through your
viewfinder is something of a photographic asset.

IMHO the R series, the R8 in particular, offers the advantage of the optics, i.e., the stuff that actually puts the image on the film, and the viewfinder, which makes it easy to see the image I want to put on film. It lacks the complex user interface of other cameras.
