When carrying an SLR, I am routinely told by security guards in various

private businesses not to take pictures. However, they don't say
anything if I'm carrying a Leica. Clearly, in their minds, Leicas
cannot possibly be used to take "serious" photos--they are much too
small and archaic-looking!

What's the difference between an SLR and a Leica? My SLR says "LEICA"
on the front!

Here in Indonesia, most stores and supermarkets of any size display a
sign prohibiting photography. I think they do it for security reasons,
afraid somebody might be "casing the joint".
