Visual basic is an ordinary PC programming language. If you get the user to execute the file, you can get total control over his/her PC. It is a piece of cake to make a visual basic script that sends itself to all entries in your (MS Outlook) address book and formats your harddrive. Micro$oft hasn't exactly made it difficult to control the user's PC through MS Outlook. Therefore: Never execute .vbs files or any other attachments from people you don't know -- and especially not if the attachment is not described in the email. And don't use Micro$oft's email clients. There are plenty of alternatives. Tom
