I doubt that other than the really tight conditions that the step backwards would not make up for the difference in FL. If you feel that the difference is worthwhile, and can actually see the 28 Framelines, then the 28/2 is the only happy solution to lower light levels. If you are shooting in bright daylight all the time, the 28 Elmarit is $500-800 less costly. Frank Filippone red735i@earthlink.net
