On my second hand M3 from 1959, I noticed a different color sort of light 
pink, yellow and grey mixture (dim) in my viewfinder. I’ve sent my camera 
for CLA and after the cleaning, finder looks much better, but it does not 
have clarity of new M6 finder. I was told, M3 finder is like that because of 
aging; especially mirrors are loosing their clarity in rangefinder 
mechanism.
