That is not necessarily true. If the warranty is transferable, then it matters not. What manufacturers have been trying to do (and I believe is unethical) is to have these items claimed "used", and with a non-transferable warranty, only the original purchase has the warranty. Bottom line, using this "tactic" the manufacturer is getting out of providing ANY warranty service on this item, even though the item originally carried a warranty, and the item was never used. Ethically, I believe that no matter how many times the item has changed hands, it should be warranties for a period of time, IMO.
