Very true. But how much use do you get from a stock
certificate, or a C of D? How have stocks done lately?

While it would be foolish to be 100% "into Leicas",
it's a heck of a lot better obsession than coloured
glass, or motor cars.

I've had "good clean user" Leica kits three times over
the last 20 years, and I've always recovered my
initial investment.

While not necessarily appreciating over time, I will
accept that for the privilege of also being able to
use them to make photographs with.

When all is said and done, even a few favourite
photographs are essentially priceless. Last time I
checked, dot.com shares looked pretty boring on the
wall.
