But I've heard this from other sources, as well. I remember when the 100/2.8 R was reported to be the sharpest lens in the Leica line. Then it was surpassed by the 180/2 R. Then the 90/2 AAS M. The 28/2 now hold the honor of being the sharpest. The 135/3.4 M is up there, but I'm not sure where it fits. I never tested the lenses, aside from the fact that I've shot with them all - -- except for the 28/2. I assume you'd need special optical testing equipment to evaluate any difference in these gems. Have you tested these three lenses against each other? As for choice between Summicron-M APO ASPH or Elmarit-M 90mm, I would doubt very much if one were able to notice any meaningful difference in actual practice. That is, of course, if you can forgo the f/2.0 stop !
