Have you found a fast-acting 200mm-300mm lens for the Visoflex/Leica M that allows bright viewing at any aperture setting? I suspect not. I've been a Leica user since roughly 1968, when I discovered a 1954-vintage M3, 50mm Summarit, 135mm Hektor, and 35mm Summaron in my parents' basement that had been bought in Germany before I was born. I worked six years part-time in a camera store selling Leica and Canon equipment. I now use an M6 TTL 0.85, the M3, 12mm UW Heliar, 35mm and 50mm Summicrons, 50mm Noctilux, 90mm Tele-Elmarit, and 135mm APO-Telyt. I also use Nikon N90 and F5 cameras with 28-105mm F2.8, 80-200mm F2.8, and 300mm F4 lenses. For flash, I use an SB-25 and Quantum battery. A carbon monopod gives steadier shots with the F5 and 300mm. **The bottom line for me is to use the equipment that best suits the situation. If Nikon hadn't had the advantage in balanced fill-flash and high-speed sync in 1995 (important for lighting racers' faces when you're shooting a dual slalom race with E100 slide film in late afternoon), I might have bought Canon EOS equipment instead. Several thousand transparencies and several race seasons later, I'm just too used to Nikon gear to switch. The Leica stuff encourages a more considered, thoughtful viewpoint, and is also lighter to carry when I'm skiing or bicycling in the mountains.
