> [1] Is a cl a good camera body to use?

I just acquired a CL and I'm getting accustomed to it.
With my large-ish hands, It's taking some time to do that
after years with an M6. The CL takes a good deal of
pressure on the button to fire, but just minutes ago, the
postman delivered one of Tom Abrahamsson's Softrelease
buttons, and the first exposure with it seemed a vast
improvement.

At wide apertures, the CL negs look a bit soft; I'm not sure
if that's from the shutter release or the small distance
between the rangefinder window and and the viewfinder window
causing a focus inaccuracy.

Another theory I've read is that the button is stiff because
it also has to cause the little lightmeter flag to pop out
of the way in the nick of time for your exposure. I will
test this for myself soon.

> [2] any typical historical problems with them?

They need Mercury batteries, and I've heard the
aforementioned little light meter flag could cause problems.
Gandy's page will help you with this.

> [3] Is a 35 summicron compatable with a cl?

I'm using my Summicron 35 on the CL every day, and it does
well, except as noted above (wide aperture, but maybe I push
too hard on the button)

> [4] Any disadvantages in using the 35 summicron on a cl if
it IS compatible?

It costs more than the Summicron C 40mm that was designed
for it.

In Short, I like it, since I can carry it more easily than
my M6. All that said, I much prefer the size and feel of
the M Cameras over the Leica CL
