Sorry, just got off the street, otherwise I would of replied earlier.

I can't recall the comment, but I believe that it was meant to be taken
as a facetious and irreverent remark. Having initially attempted to
practice Fine Art photography, I came away from it completely disgusted
and vowed never to come back to it. As things would have it, they later
would knock on my door, hence the nature of the relationship as been
more palatable. But back to the Fine Art world. The degree of
favoritism, nepotism, and a twisting compliance to an utterly rigid and
senseless litany of rules is beyond the pale of reason. The only analogy
I can make would be of having to practice National Socialist Realism or
Socialist Realism, coupled with the Catholic index on censorship. 
I think the current technology is pulling us away from the entrenched
interests and has been nothing short of liberating. It is allowing
people to roam terrains with an abandon that is making many of us feel
renewed in our own pursuits and interests. My current exhibit has a
poster for it made by a friend of mine on his Epson. He made the
signature print look split processed, far surpassing in mood and
craftsmanship the original print on the wall. I wish I had more posters
at the time to give out, never mind the people asking to buy one. 
So, no, I not married to anything in the photography world, and if I can
kick an Adamite, or a Decisive Momenter on the shins, metaphorically
speaking, I won't resist the urge.
