Subject: Re: [Leica] 50 Summicron-M vs. 50 Elmar-M

Hi,

I own the current elmar and I am really pleased with it, small light and the
fast to focus. Recently I bought a 50 DR, that I sold after a comparison
with the elmar (and also to buy a Noctilux).
I like the warmer colors of the elmar and its higher contrast.
The 50 DR has a better definition but for me the pictures were
more flat (especially color slides).
This only MY experience and MY opinion, there are a lot
of luggers that would not sell their 50 DR for $1500 :-)
I do not have experience with the current summicron.

If I travel with only one lens, it's the elmar 50
(or sometimes the 35 1.4 asph)

krgds,

logan
