Recently I bought a 50 DR, that I sold after a comparison with the elmar (and also to buy a Noctilux). I like the warmer colors of the elmar and its higher contrast. The 50 DR has a better definition but for me the pictures were more flat (especially color slides). This only MY experience and MY opinion, there are a lot of luggers that would not sell their 50 DR for $1500 :-) I do not have experience with the current summicron.
