I didn't use glasses till mid-forties then for reading and over time more and more. I finally went to contacts and can see the meter readings, f-stop settings, shutter speeds and of course all the framelines. I think you need a good doctor (patient) and you need the personal committment, but the end result is well worth the effort. About laser surgery, I might consider it but my eyes have changed a bit almost every time I get an annual exam and until your eyes are not changing for a few years laser surgery is NOT recommended.
