With all respect, to me the issue IS whether or not there is ANY
difference. I do not know whether I will wish to make an extraordinarily
large blow-up of any given photograph, and I will not take the risk of
losing the ultimate in quality, as I am often shooting on the cutting edge
in all other respects.

I store my lenses with filters and lens caps. When I am using them, both
come off. I swap lenses frequently. I can screw a filter in and put front
and rear caps on in quite a hurry!
