Tony,

I find the SL's viewfinder exceptionally well-suited to macro work/  I've used the 60mm Macro and the 100mm APO-Macro; your choice will depend on what sort of macro work you want to do.  The SL lacks a formal mirror lock-up but this limitation can be circumvented using the trick described here:

The SL cannot use ROM lenses but all Leica Macro lenses have been produced without ROM, and if you can't find a pre-ROM lens, the ROM versions can be converted to the 3-cam configuration that will work on anl leica reflex camera.
