George,

I'm a chrome Leicaholic too: M6 + 50 chrome Summicron, 21 ASPH chrome and 35
1st version Summicron.

About the stealth thing: a chrome M6 is a "hide in plain sight" camera. Not
that I'm a big street photographer, but people just ignore you and figure
you have a P&S. I agree with you on the the smoothness of chrome, to me the
black lenses feel cheap in comparison. And the weight? Hah! I used to lug
around an F3 and assorted SLR junk, an extra 100g or so per lens is nothing!

Leica silver is now the same price as Leica black. However, if you look
around it can generally be had for less than black on the used and "demo"
market because I think the demand is smaller for silver.

And beautiful...beautiful to die for...

I seem to rememember that the chrome Tri-elmar (now sadly discontinued) was
featured in Wallpaper magazine as archetypal cool photo gear.
