Actually, I find quite a few square images in magazines. Anyway, magazines do not need MF. You could get away with an Instamatic for the most part in most magazines. Besides, most cameras do not provide square images, so the odds of people using rectangular images, from the proliferation of rectangular image making cameras, is certain to have some bearing on the 'issue' (sic). Anyway, this is all pretty irrelevant to what the discussion was. Somehow, you are trying to justify rectangular images over square ones, and that is YOUR preference (and of course others), but it is not mine, nor is it a lot of people's who use square format cameras.
