If you are somewhere hazardous, like a beach in driving wind MAYBE a UV is
ok, otherwise don't bother. The Leica glass is very hard - the only time I
wished for a UV was my first time out with a rapidwinder and I was changing
film in one camera and nearly scraped the lens on th eother with the stalk.
I'm clumsy and my glass is fine. Some people do demos and all sorts of
hazardous stuff everyday without a filter.
