Hi,

The main advantage of the M is the viewfinder (no black phase due to mirror)
and the shorter delay between pressing the shutter button and the opening of
the shutter (in fact the shortest among all 35mm cameras)
With a SLR you have to anticipate but not with the M.

With an M is harder to get the right in focus shot , but when you are in
focus the shot will be fine.

With a SLR/G2 the focus will be ok but you will lose the decisive instant
you saw in the viewfinder.

I have an Canon EOS and use it only with a flash and for wildlife and long
tele.

just my 2 cents,

logan
