This morning I went over the weekend market to cruise for snaps - it's a great place with lots of people and thousands of stalls selling just about everything imaginable. I was using my M6 with a 50mm 1.4. While I was there I ran into another farang (foreigner) who had two Nikon F5's around his neck one with a flash, a huge backpack and a tripod and when he opened up his pack there must have been 8 to 10 more lenses and another body in there, not to mention the accessories and film. He was dissolving in pools of sweat when I left him and it felt great to be traveling so light. It's early morning in Bangkok and I'm just heading out for a morning of cruising for snaps. There is a slight haze but the temperature is around 32 degrees - yes that's above zero! Where are my sandals? Guy *Actually, I know for a fact that Toronto weather *does* improve, as I visited that fair city 2 or 3 years ago between Christmas and New Years. It was a blisteringly hot winter, so I was told - the temperature only got down to about 0°. Within minutes of leaving the hotel for dinner the first evening, I had no feeling in my ears, my eyes got bleary and the cold air seemed to scrape at my lungs like sandpaper. I understood that this was a mild winter the next day, when I saw many a Torontoan sipping coffee at outdoor terraces in shortsleeved T-shirts and jeans. They explained that the winter before, temperatures sank to about -40.
