Subject: [Leica] R lenses on D30

I've not tried using R lenses on a D-30..... but I wouldn't recommend it.

You can get a Novoflex adapter that allows you to use R lenses on EOS
bodies... around $175 from Calumet... The good new is that you can focus on
infinity... but you have to focus with it stopped down or remember to stop
the lens back down before shooting...

I would not recommend it for use with the D30 as I've found the D30 a little
harder to manual focus to begin with. As it has one of those stupid
built-in diopters that make it blurry for everybody... and well... You are
not going to see the quality of Leica glass when it is mounted on D30...

I normally manual focus my EOS 1N's with no problems... but I have had some
trouble with the D-30 and am learning how use it in AF mode and using the AF
lock with better results. The preview panel on the back does not really
allow you to tell if something is critically or even reasonably sharp.

I figured it would be better to save the $175 to buy a lens that actually
autofocuses and has an auto aperture and works with TTL flash......
