Horst,

If someone used any of those superglues (Crazy Glue) to fix the adapter to
the lens you can try to get some acetone (nail polish remover) into the
threads to dissolve the glue.  Another possibility is that the adapter and
the lens have, over time, lightly "welded together" due to the airtight seal
between them.  You could try putting some penetrating oil, sold in hardware
stores to remove rusted nuts and bolts,  on the lens adapter.  Another thing
you could try is to put the lens in the freezer (or bring it to Toronto in
February :-)).  The cold might cause the adapter and lens to contract at
different rates and might help separate the two. A few alternations of
freeze and thaw might work.
