Happy New Years LUG!!!

One of my M3's has a VERY dim rangefinder image (I fondly call it my 
"hyperfocal camera"). I inquired at Leica Repair and they replied about 
$400 to replace the assembly. Information on cameraquest.com suggests 
something more like $200 to repair. Can anyone who has experience with this 
matter please advise. On or off list OK.
