You are correct and just to make sure it's clear to everyone else, your scenario directly above assumes that the item in question has not reached
bidder #1's hidden reserve of $100.00 yet.  If bidder #2 puts in a bid of $100.01, when the item has not yet reached bidder #1's reserve, lets say
$85.00, then bidder #2 will become the high bidder at $100.01.

How bidder #2 KNEW to put in only $100.01 is another question entirely.
