The rear element of the skinny Tele-Elmarit sometimes is prone to separation and, as the element is a press-fit into the body, removing it for repair becomes quite a problem. Obviously, only a small number of examples suffer from this, but the numbers have been large enough to cause some alarm among Leica M users.
