Thank you for your timely intervention.  Had I seen your post of 12/15 before 
commenting on the banality of the political discourse in question, I would 
have maintained my silence, as I am happy to do from this point forward.  It 
is not incumbent upon you to explain your position, as its validity is 
self-evident.
