This is different from my SL which use the film loading crank to on/off the meter --- same as Nikon FM2/FE2. And this what I read from Douglas Herr's - ---------------- Leicaflex Light meter: Non-through-the-lens CdS meter cell, powered by a 625 mercury battery or equivalent. The meter reads a field of view approximately equal to that of a 90mm lens. - ---------------- SL Light meter: Selective through-the-lens CdS meter cell, powered by a 625 mercury battery or equivalent. Light for the meter cell passes through a semi-silvered region in the reflex mirror and is reflected by a secondary mirror to the meter cell on the floor of the mirror box. The documents's URL: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/telyt/STD.HTM http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/telyt/SL.HTM - --------------- My question is... Why the CdS meter cell need power? (My Rolleiflex T does'nt need battery power) Will the mk1 draining the battery power? How long is the barrery life? Are the metering between mk1 and SL differnet? Its amazing that the viewfinder is so bright, I think it is the brightest ever made! Weber E-Mail: weber_leou@itri.org.tw
