I have to put in a plug for "The Leica and the Leica System"
by Theo Scheerer, 1962, Fountain Press. Comes up on eBay
occasionally. Scheerer writes conversationally, from the
high water mark of the "system." Learn how to love the
system, why the 90mm should be your first extra lens, how to
use the spiderlegs. Scheerer died in 1963, and Makovec made
a revision which adds the SL. Semi-official, the German
edition was published by Umschau Verlag, which published
Leica Fotographie, and first ran some of the photos.
