If you already know your way around Yahoo / Topica it's not too difficult but not everyone does. So here goes: For the Yahoo Leica R club, the URL is: http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/leicar. To sub*scribe, click on the "join" link in the upper-right-hand side of the page. Note that you cannot receive emails from this club; on the other hand, there is a place where you can upload scanned photographs. It's got off to a very slow start, with only 6 members a week after it was created. For the Topica Leica Reflex Forum (LRF), if you go to the following URL: http://www.topica.com/lists/leica_reflex_forum/prefs/info.html you will see the following screen: List Information List Name Leica Reflex Forum (LRF) Purpose: A forum for users of Leica single lens reflex cameras. List Type: Unmoderated discussion Subscription: Does not require owner approval Archive: Readable by sub*scribers only Created: Dec 05, 2000 Owner: Ray Moth To Join: Sub*scribe here, or send an email to leica_reflex_forum-subscribe@topica.com To Post: Send mail to 'leica_reflex_forum@topica.com' Stats: 18 sub*scribers / 1 message per day Categories: New Lists As it says, 5 lines from the bottom, you can click on the word Sub*scribe or you can send a blank Email to the subscription address. The posting address is used only for submitting posts to the list, after you have already sub*scribed. Also, in the preferences, you can state whether you'd rather receive individual emails of posts or the daily digest; alternatively, you can view the messages on-line without having to receive emails at all (not very convenient in my experience). I'm afraid I've found the information/guidelines in Topica a bit scattered and not too clear: it seems not to follow the KISS principle. However, it does work if you persevere (even *I* managed to join the LEG in Topica, after some acrobatics) :-) BTW, there are already 18 members even though the LRF was created less than 24 hours ago.
