Subject: [Leica] Heiland Splitgrade in US

In case anyone else is interested, I checked into pricing for the Heiland
Splitgrade for the V-35. Although the pricing on the German Heiland site
indicates about US$ 910 at current exchange rates for the controller with
V-35 module, the US Distributor, Versalab, wants US$ 1325, with the same
price for any enlarger's module, 35mm or 4x5! So much for that idea! RH
Designs, the UK distributor, can't sell to the US, but they do have a meter
that seems to do a similar contrast grade and exposure determination,
although not automated or two-filter method, and which apparently must be
recalibrated for each paper, for about US$ 300. For a few more $$ it comes
integrated with an enarger timer, so you just need to set the contrast
grade.
