Ya, go with fiberglass. I just spent two days scraping a mixed bag of
paint  and polyurethane off my sink. It's almost enough to drive me to
do something really stupid, like buying a bouncy mold extruded plastic
sink. Somebody slap me hard, so I can wake up from this delirium.
